Professional Bio

Robert began his career working with computers at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. He was hired by the University to be a liaison with Apple Computer Inc. It was 1985, and Apple was introducing the Macintosh line to the educational channel. The Mac revolutionized personal computing at the time with the GUI interface (graphical user interface), also adopted by Windows 3.1. Using a mouse to interact with a computer was a huge leap forward at the time. A friendly rivalry formed between Robert and the campus PC representative, which began a lifelong desire to convince people that a Mac is better.

After receiving a BA in communications, Robert moved to Los Angeles and became the Technical Support Manager for Crate Technologies. He managed a technical support and warranty fulfillment team. Robert worked on product design, hardware troubleshooting, sales, and management of the technical support hotline. He contributed to tradeshow marketing and direct-to-consumer sales through print, telemarketing, and bulk email advertising.

An offer from a close friend to “come up for a season” in 1992 started the dream of living near Lake Tahoe. Determined to keep the dream alive, he applied computer technology in bookkeeping, telemarketing, and photo & video production. A co-worker introduced him to Laura Partridge in 1999 and suggested he help Creative Concepts improve the application of computer technology to media & marketing. So he did.

Robert also enjoys working in a family business that was founded in 1913. He is a Fourth-generation cattleman. Powers Ranch Co. received its Century Farm designation from the State of Oregon in 2013. Serving on the board and working with the family to contribute to feeding people has been a strong influence in his life since a young age.

Robert is dedicated to assisting team members in using technology to achieve the highest level of success for our clients.
